HOW TO MANUALLY CREATE AN E-GIFT CARD
Primarily, e-gift cards are created from your store's front end, when a customer purchases an e-gift card on your store. However, there are times when you may want to manually create gift cards. For example, this is useful when you have physical gift cards that you want to give or sell; manually creating a corresponding e-gift card allows the code on a physical gift card to be entered in the Gift Card field at checkout and applied towards an online purchase.
1. From your DermPRO OneLogin Dashboard, click on your logo to go to the Store Back-End. From the back-end, select the menu: Marketing > Gift Card > Manage Gift Codes
2. Click the orange button, "Create a New Gift Code".
3. Complete the requested details.
Under Gift Code Information
---> Code Pattern - Leave as is to automatically assign a code using the default pattern of characters. However, oftentimes the reason for manually creating an E-Gift Card is to match the code that is used by a physical gift card.
NOTE: If you want to match the code from a physical gift card, be sure to enter the specific code here in place of the pattern. Depending on the pattern of your code, you may need DermPRO to change the default Code Pattern in order for you to be able to enter a custom code in that field. If you receive a Gift Code pattern error, please to submit a Support Ticket to DermPRO and we can correct that for you.
---> Balance
---> Store - choose the correct store view
---> Expires At - In case there's an expiration date.
See sample below.
Under Delivery Information
---> Choose the template you want shown on the gift card.
---> Sender Name
---> Recipient Name
---> Choose the proper delivery method and complete the requested data.
See sample below.
4. Once done, click SAVE from the top right area of the screen. If you want to generate an email notification of the gift card, click the SAVE and SEND option instead of SAVE.
You will see a notification that the gift card code has been sent successfully.
NOTE: Remember that any gift card that your customer will redeem in-office—not use online—must be manually redeemed by your staff at the time of redemption. For guidance on processing in-office gift card redemption, visit our help article, Processing an In-Office Gift Card Redemption.
