Add-On Payment Options for Your Store
Introduction
Your DermPRO store allows you to offer your patients popular payment and financing options, with our Payment Options add-on. We currently support PayPal and two different Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) options as add-on options on your store's check-out page.
- PayPal: PayPal makes it easy for your customers to checkout with a payment method they know and trust. PayPal currently has 286 million active users. In fact, 87.5% of all online buyers use PayPal.
- Affirm and Zip: The BNPL industry has exploded over the past decade and purchasers have flocked to these services, especially as online shopping soared during the pandemic. Affirm and Zip are two options that you can add to your DermPRO store to offer your patients a buy now, pay later option. Typically, Zip (comparable to AfterPay and Klarna) can be used for orders up to $1,500, while Affirm can be applied for larger order amounts.
The add-on payment options will be displayed in addition to the "Credit Card" payment option which uses your primary merchant account (BluePay, Nextech Payments, ModMed Pay, Stripe, etc). When any of these add-on payment options are selected, your patient will be led through external screens on the appropriate payment app, and then will be directed back to your store's order success page. The purchaser should not close their browser window until the store's Order Success page has been displayed.
NOTE: The add-on payment methods are not eligible to be used for orders that include: Memberships, Auto-Replenish Products, or Gift Cards.
PayPal
PayPal appears along with Credit Card as a Payment Method option on the checkout page. It is displayed for all users, whether logged into a store account or not. Both the Credit Card option and the PayPal option may be used by guest purchasers.
Affirm and Zip
- Affirm will only be displayed on items or orders with total larger than $500.
- Zip will only be displayed on items or orders with total less than $1,500.
- To use either of these payment methods, the purchaser must log into a store account.
The following examples illustrate how these options are displayed on Product Pages and Treatment Pages, where applicable.
Example 1: Zip is displayed on the product page because the item price is less than $1,500. Affirm is not displayed on the product because the item price is less than $500.
Example 2: Both Affirm and Zip are displayed on the product page because the item price is larger than $500 and less than $1,500.
Options on Check-Out Page
On the check-out page, Credit Card and PayPal are shown as Payment Method options for all users, whether checking out as a guest or logged into a store account. However, Affirm and Zip are only displayed as options on the checkout page if the purchaser is logged into a store account. Further, the Cart Subtotal must fall within the allowed ranges required for each of these options ($1,500 or less for Zip, and $500 or more for Affirm).
If your patient has problems using these payment options, remember to check the following.
- Is the Order Total within the required dollar amount for the payment method they want to use?
- Is the patient logged into a store account if they want to use Affirm or Zip?
- Did the patient wait until the store's Order Success screen was displayed before closing the browser window?
